ABOUT US | Our mission
The mission of Eating Disorders Resource Center (EDRC) is to increase awareness and understanding of eating disorders for the general public and for health professionals and to promote early diagnosis, effective treatment, and recovery. Early diagnosis is vital so that the illness does not become chronic and/or life threatening. EDRC is based in San Jose, California, and provides resources and information including in-patient and community-based treatment programs in Santa Clara County. Another local project is the facilitation of a monthly support group so that sufferers and their families and friends have the opportunity to meet together and learn from each other. EDRC includes advocacy as a key part of its mission and works with related local, state, and national groups to promote mental health parity legislation, effective insurance coverage, and the annual eating disorders week of education activities. |

Message from the Executive Director " You can never be too rich or too thin..." You've heard- and maybe even made - this statement. It takes on a whole different meaning when you or a loved one has an eating disorder. |
