EDRC has an immediate opening for an Office Assistant

Part Time: 10 to 20 hours per week 

Salary offered $15.00 to $17.00

The mission of Eating Disorders Resource Center (EDRC) is to increase awareness and understanding of eating disorders for the general public and for health professionals; to promote early diagnosis, effective treatment, and recovery; and to advocate for mental health parity legislation and effective insurance coverage.

Based in Los Gatos, CA, EDRC is a non-profit organization that links resources, information and support for eating disorders in Silicon Valley. EDRC offers a comprehensive, online resource directory. We are here to respond to calls and emails from patients, family members, clinics and health care professionals requesting support and information, treatment options, and help with navigating the health care and insurance systems. We offer an education and outreach program on the early detection and intervention of eating disorders. EDRC facilitates monthly support groups for sufferers and their families and friends.

 

Administrative

  • Recruit, train and retain volunteers 
  • Work with volunteers to ensure website is current
  • Ensure all support group meetings have coverage  
  • Ensure all outreach programs have presenters and evaluations
  • Track, modify, and summarize surveys, evaluations, and personal feedback from providers and clients.
  • Help prepare grants and interim reports
  • Process correspondence
  • Prepare board meeting packets and take minutes 
  • Prepare check requests, track and monitor expenses
  • Maintain fundraising and other data in excel
  • Coordinate quarterly e-newsletters 
  • Helps to coordinate and publicize EDRC activities
  • Represent EDRC at various community health fairs and fundraising events
  • Work with Stanford team to identify, match and schedule eating disorder experts to speak on eating disorder awareness and recovery with other health care professionals, parents, coaches, the general public, private and school groups, organizations
  • Other activities as needed

Experience

  • Post high school education with BA degree preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication and database skills
  • Adept with social media
  • Proficient in 2010 Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with Adobe Illustrator desired
  • Likes a challenge and is flexible
  • Ability to work independently, yet a team player
  • Driver’s license
