TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: My treatment philosophy is that every patient will benefit from an individualized approach. In one patient's case a psychodynamic approach may be better, others may benefit from a cognitive/ behavioral approach. No one philosophy works for everyone.

Yes, I think it is possible to recover from an eating disorder and define recovery as: Recovery is the sense of being free of the voice in our head telling us that if we eat a certain food we will instantly become fat. The voice that tells us we aren't good enough if we're not a certain weight. Recovery is understanding, acknowledging and accepting the underlying factors that may have attributed to an ED as the real issue behind their disorder. Recovery is not having food rules to live by or having guidelines and not punishing yourself if you don't stick to those guidelines. Recovery is peace of mind that you are no longer trapped in your ED.
