TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Recovery from an Eating Disorder begins with the nutritional restoration of the physical body. Food is the medication. My philosophy stems from a scientific understanding the physical body as a complex array of cells, chemicals and organs working synergistically to support life. Education, support and patience highlight the foundations of my practice. I believe all persons can have freedom from the bondage of an eating disorder.
Yes, I feel you can recover from an eating disorder and I define recovery as: Recovery from an Eating Disorder includes a nutritional, physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual healing that leads someone to appreciate the journey they've endured throughout the process of their Eating Disorder. Additionally, the acceptance of the strength required to choose recovery is critical. I believe that an appreciation for the lessons learned and a gentle willingness to let go of the defense is the true sign of recovery.
