TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:
I work with individuals, groups and families from a mindful meditation perspective. Clients experience and practice various forms of meditation (from ancient to modern) that focus on both food for the body and more importantly, food for the heart. My services focus on insight into the nature of craving and how to release from its destructive forms.
Yes I believe it is possible to recover from an eating disorder and I define recover as:
1. Significant increase in a minimum of 10 mindful eating skills that reduce reactive/autopilot.emotional eating patterns; kindness practices for one's body; 2.Eating based on satiety cues with a focus on quality not quantity; 3. Engaging in mindful eating practices in a variety of setting (stress, restaurants, parties, work, when alone and/or with family, friends, etc. 4. Knowing ways to mindfully relate to relapse; 5. Committed to daily "food for the heart" practices; 6. Enjoying food rather than using it as punishment
