EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University in 1986. Member of International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals, Academy for Eating Disorders, Association for Size Diversity and Health. Specialize in working with women who struggle with disordered eating and body image disturbance. Also treat depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, life transitions, and women's issues. 
 

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I am an integrative therapist, using a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities to help women reach their treatment goals. Providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment, clients learn why they have developed eating/body issue problems, how these problems affect their current lives and skills to change them. Clients are encouraged to act as a team with their therapists in collaborating for positive growth and change. Support groups are used to enhance individual work. Evening hours are available. 
 

Yes, I feel you can recover from an eating disorder and I define recovery as: Recovery is a process of learning to love the self. Living life fully, feeling empowered to affect change in ourselves and others and looking at the big picture are all skills that all people can learn. Recovery is not a number on a scale, a body size, or the absence of disease. Recovery is a lifelong journey that helps individuals, couples, and families become more effective and productive human beings.
